Despite persistent rumors linking Panamanian international Ismael Díaz to Major League Soccer, the twenty-year-old isn’t (yet) moving Stateside.
Díaz was “close” to a move to MLS after the end of his recent loan spell with Porto’s reserves but has chosen another option, per his agent Edgardo Ruben Carles Cal, who declined to comment on the forward’s destination of choice.
Speculation that the San Jose Earthquakes were in the hunt for Díaz appears baseless, however. According to Carles, the Bay Area club have not expressed interest in the highly-regarded youngster.
Díaz, who has scored two goals in seven caps for Panama since making his international debut in 2014, currently remains with Panamanian side Tauro FC until a deal is completed.
